Vernie Edward Jacobs, 81, of Chattanooga passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Marietta, GA. He graduated from Manchester High School and attended McKenzie Business School. Mr. Jacobs was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doss Miller and Hanna Braxton Jacobs and three brothers, Shubert Jacobs, Lad Jacobs and Bernie Jacobs.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Schoolfield Jacobs; daughter, Nancy (Jon) Overholtzer of Marietta, GA and devoted dachshund, “Dudley”.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Darrell Smith officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
