Charles George Kemmerer

Charles George Kemmerer, 75, of East Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2015 at home following a long illness. He was the loving husband of Broghild (Krautter) Kemmerer with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

Born on March 17, 1940 in East Stroudsburg he was the son of the late Charles F. and Violet (Butz) Kemmerer.

He graduated from Stroudsburg High School and Churchman’s Business College. Following graduation he served 3 years in the Army stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1962. Charles spent many years employed at Wilkra Co. of Portland, Pennsylvania and volunteering for D.E.S of Stroudsburg. He was a member of Christ Hamilton Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also a member of the Rider Motorcycle Club of the Poconos where he also served as treasurer for many years.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by a son; Kevin T. Kemmerer his wife Audrey (Rice) and grandchild Megan. Brother; Frank Kemmerer, his wife Heilgard (Krautter). 3 sisters; Linda (Butz) Browning and husband Ernie, Peggy (Kemmerer) Setzer and husband Harold, Betty (Kemmerer) Domotor and husband John. 2 sisters-in-law Dietlind (Krautter) Crain and husband Howard, and Wiltrud (Krautter) Miller and husband Walter. Also, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Eric S. Kemmerer, Brother Wayne H. Kemmerer and parents

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00 PM followed by a memorial service to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM at the Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, 378 Bossardsville Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. A luncheon will immediately follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hughes Cancer Center, 231 E Brown St, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 or to The Christ Hamilton United Lutheran Church, 378 Bossardsville Rd, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
