
Born in East Stroudsburg, PA on December 20, 1923 he was a son to the late Earl A. and Dorothy (Smith) Weiss Sr. Earl graduated from East Stroudsburg High school and was drafted into the United States Army during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge, Earl acquired a position as postal carrier for the United States post office working at the East Stroudsburg Post Office, East Stroudsburg retiring in 1981.
Earl was an active member of the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 108 Tara View Drive, Stroudsburg, where he enjoyed being a Deacon, Usher, and Elder. He loved sports and the games of baseball and basketball. Earl was an avid outdoors man and loved to hunt and fly fish. He also took great joy in folk Art wood carving.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his loving wife Wanda Flagnagan who passed away on December 22, 1997 brothers: James and Arthur Weiss, a sister Mary Kruse, and a granddaughter: Kistina Weiss.
Surviving are two loving daughters: Cindy Cobb and her husband Paul, of Cambridge Springs, PA and Marae Hurley and her husband Jerome, of Pittsburgh, PA ; a brother: John Weiss Sr. and his wife Bert, of East Stroudsburg; four grandchildren: Chad Cobb and his wife Patricia, April Wolf and her husband Frank, Keven Hurley and his wife Emma, and Meghan Hurley;
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday September 6, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Berean Bible Fellowship Church, 1028 Tara View Dr. Stroudsburg, Pa with his Pastor Davis Duggins Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A public viewing will be held on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and on Thursday September 6, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at the church.
