
Born in Lenoir, NC; on May 5, 1948, she was a daughter to the late Willard and Wilhemenia (Branon) Jackson. Lavalette graduated from Ridge View High School, Mary Mount College, Arlington, VA; where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree. Lavalette was employeed as a Special Education Teacher with the Manhattan School System at PS33, in Manhattan, for 35 years until her retirement in 2009.
Lavalette loved to sew, do needle point, draw, paint, cook, bake and spend the summer and holidays with her granddaughter.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her sisters, Mary Hunt, and Teressa Connelly, and brother Carl Dill.
Surviving are her husband Lemont Carnegary Sr. at home in Bushkill; son, Timothy Moore of Houston, TX; and Lemont Carnegary Jr. and his wife Annie also of Bushkill; sisters, Annette Jackson of New York City, NY; Priscilla Hunt and her husband Forest of Hickory, NC; a granddaughter, Shana Moore of Charlotte, NC; and a grandson Brandon and a host of nieces and nephews the Jacksons, the Bonillia and the Carnegary families.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday April 30, 2013 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A pubic visitation will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
