
He was born in Delaware Water Gap on September 3, 1925, a son of the late Johiel Talmag and Mae Etta (Arnst) Wallace. Lloyd attended East Stroudsburg High School and served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he returned home to East Stroudsburg where he obtained a position at Hughes Printing Company, East Stroudsburg as a pressmen helper. Lloyd retired from the maintenance department of Hughes Printing in 1986 after 42 years of services.
Lloyd was a member of the East Stroudsburg CLU Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) East Stroudsburg, and the American Legion Post 346 East Stroudsburg. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to the East Stroudsburg Cavaliers football games and was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers baseball fan. Lloyd enjoyed spending time with his family and taking daily wakes on the East Stroudsburg Dike at Dansbury Park.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his son John Wallace who passed away on March 12, 1984, brothers, Mitchel, Kenneth, and Russel Wallace; and sisters, Mary Boushell and Elenor Kunkle.
Surviving is his wife of 65 years this past August 10, 2014 Helen (Hineline) Wallace, East Stroudsburg; daughters, Peggy Hardy and her husband Samuel of East Stroudsburg, and Mary Ann Winsey and her husband Kenneth of Spring Hills, FL; son, Lloyd Wallace and his wife Cindy of Stroudsburg; sister, Sarah Lambert of Stroudsburg; grandchildren, Robert and William Young, Nichole and Jonathan Wallace, Amy Altemose, Christopher, Dustin, Kalin, and Haley Winsey; great-grandchildren, Josh LaBar, William Young Jr. Hannah and Olliver Winsey, Hunter and Hayddin Brill, and
John Van Buskirk, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg with his son in law Kenneth Winsey officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery, Prospect Street, East Stroudsburg.
A public visitation will be held on Friday August 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Saturday August 30, 2014 from 10:00 A.M .until the of service at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg.
