Michael Francis Zaczek

Michael Francis Zaczek, 71 of Stroudsburg, formerly of Altoona PA, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was the loving husband of MaryAnn (Liberto) Zaczek with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

He was born in Altoona on May 2, 1943. He was the son of the late Michael and Jadwiga Hattie Rose (Jaronieski) Zaczek.

Michael proudly served his country in the US Army from June 29, 1962 until May 28, 1968 as a SP4 Crane Operator. He enjoyed fishing and assembling model cars but mostly he was a loving husband, father and provider.

Surviving in addition to his wife MaryAnn, are his daughter Debra Ann Zaczek Pliska, Phoenix AZ; brother; Thadeus Zaczek and wife Florence, The Villages FL; sister: Carol Zaczek Smith, Altoona PA; Neice: Densise Starner and husband Fred, Grandville PA; Mother-in-law: Josephine Chisare Liberto, PA; Brother-in-law: Thomas Liberto and wife Esther , New Hyde Park NY; sister-in-law Joanne Madonia and husband Antonio, Lake Worth FL; nieces: Laura Liberto, (God daughter) New Hyde Park NY; Michele Liberto, New Hyde Park NY

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Karen Marie Zaczek who passed away in May 1974, and his brother Henry Eugene Zaczek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, PA 18360 with Rev. Carmen Perry as celebrant. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Burial will be at the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
