
Born in Henryville, PA; on November 12, 1929, she was the daughter to the late Oliver Sr. and Helen (Wolbert) VanBuskirk. Pearl attended the Stroudsburg school system in the mid 1940’s. She then took Nurse’s Aide classes at General Hospital and obtained her C.N.A. certification in 1968. Pearl worked for Pocono Medical Center for 18 years as a C.N.A.. Following her employment at P.M.C she worked for Pleasant Valley Manor Inc., Stroudsburg; for many years than she retired in 1990.
Pearl was a member of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church Cortland Street, East Stroudsburg. She enjoyed Gardening and Crocheting. She liked to cruse to the Caribbean, and enjoyed a memorable bus trip to Tennessee where she visited Graceland. Pearl’s greatest passion was grocery shopping at Shop Rite. Pearl loved her pet dog Missy and her cat Sweet Pea.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her loving husband of 46 years Alfred Lewis who passed in 1995.
Surviving is her two daughters, Cathy Lewis Snyder, of Henryville; and Joann Wallie and her husband Bryan, of East Stroudsburg; a son: Craig Lewis and his wife Tammy of Bath; three grandchildren: Jessica Barrett and her husband Steven, of Tannersville; Noel Denig, of Reeders; and Daniel Wallie, of East Stroudsburg; Great grandchildren: Michael Hoven, Joseph ,Katelyn, Stephanie,Steven, Matthew , Brandon Barrett, and Elizabeth Denig; Brother: Oliver VanBuskirk Jr. of Henryville; and a Sister: Mabel Houch, of Woodale.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg, with Rev. Dr. Edward C. Kimes, Pastor of the East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery, in East Stroudsburg.
A public visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on February 16, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
