Robert J. Reese

Born in Williamsport, PA on April 11, 1934, he was a son to the late John and Mary (Allen) Reese. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Meshoppen High School, Meshoppen, PA and served his country in the United States Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Bob was employed as a Network Systems Technician for Commonwealth Telephone of Bangor, PA where he retired after 37 years of service.

Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge Pocono 780 of Cresco, the American Legion of East Stroudsburg, the USS Tarawa O I Division Veterans League, the USS Tarawa Veterans Association, the USS Kula Golf Association. He was past president of the Shawnee County Club, Shawnee, and was past president of the Men’s Association, Shawnee. Bob enjoyed the game of golf and loved to fish. An avid sports fan, he liked the games of baseball and football and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a brother, James A. Reese.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years the former Joyce (Bodnar) Reese of East Stroudsburg; son, Martin R. Reese and his wife Nannette of Saylorsburg; grandson, Jonathan Reese also of Saylorsburg; sister in laws, Beatrice Wygrala and her husband Denny of Laceyville and Carolyn Layaou and her husband Glenn of Tunkhannock; nephew’s, Glenn Layaou, Jr. and James A. Reese Jr.

A memorial services with military honors will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg; at 2:00 P.M. with retired Pastor Andrew Riensera officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends may gather at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg; from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service. A Masonic service will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 P.M.
