Allison Renee Brunken, devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many, passed away on June 4, 2023 at the age of 43 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Allison was born on March 26, 1980 in Oklahoma City to Kathy and Dean Brunken. After graduating from Edmond Memorial High School, she worked for many years with Tim Calkins painting and decorating homes. She later decided to pursue her love of animals by obtaining a degree in Veterinary Technology from OSU in OKC. Due to health conditions, she was unable to continue working later in life but never lost her eye for decorating or her love for animals.
In her younger years Allison was a talented vocalist, participating in show choir at school and various musical performances. She loved her dogs, her fur babies as we called them, immensely. She was devoted to their care and happiness, and they brought her endless joy. Allison was a dedicated aunt, keeping up with her nephews’ and nieces’ many sporting events, school activities, and achievements. She was always so happy to hear about the most recent events in their lives and enjoy those memories in pictures if she couldn’t celebrate with them. Allison will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and big heart.
Allison is preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Evelyn Brunken, as well as Jim and Nellie Orf.
She is survived by her parents Dean and Kathy Brunken; sister Lauren Matlock, her husband JW Matlock, and their sons Wes and Logan; brother Jason Brunken, his wife Debbie Brunken, and their daughters Kristen and Jenna; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating Allison’s life will be held June 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway Edmond, OK 73034.
While flowers are welcome, alternatively please feel free to donate to the ASPCA or your local humane society in Allison’s name.
