Alyssia Dawn (Jackson) Hendrickson, 40, of Edmond, passed peacefully from this world, surrounded by many of her family and friends, on Monday, July 17th, 2017. Alyssia leaves us with precious memories of her infectious laughter, quick wit, tender heart, sweet spirit, and selflessness. A lover of life, God, friends, and family, her utmost joy came from spending time with her three cherished daughters. They are by far her most brilliant creations.
She sang beautifully and had a heart for music and dancing. A loyal Dallas Cowboys and OU football fan, she always enjoyed watching games with friends and family. She took pride and pleasure in her flair for crafting and spent hours refurbishing furniture. Her meticulously kept house often bustled with kids, friends, and neighbors…Alyssia made room in her heart and her home for everyone.
Born Sept. 6, 1976 to Kenny and Judy Jackson in Oklahoma City, Alyssia grew up in Edmond. She moved for a short time to Texas where she graduated high school from Haltom City High School. Shortly after high school she returned to Edmond and completed training for and worked as a pharmacy technician for years at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. She went on to teach in the pharmacy technician program at Brookline College in Oklahoma City.
Alyssia is preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Calvin and Doris (“Gammy”) Jackson, and her father Kenny Jackson. She is survived by her daughters, Kyla, Britni, and Rylee, her sister Patti, her mother Judy Brushingham, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many devoted friends. Alyssia’s heart for others was larger than she was. People were naturally drawn to her, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her will forever remember and miss her.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial at Baggerly Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
