Bettie Marie Wallace

After 249 dates Bettie married William “Bill” Wallace on June 17, 1949. There were 4 boys born in this marriage. They were married 49 years before Bill’s passing in January 1999. Bill and Bettie were lifelong residents of Jones, OK. Bettie worked at Western Electric in Oklahoma City 26 years before retiring in 1992.

Bettie was quite the crafter. She loved to crochet, knit, make ceramic and porcelain dolls, and she made all the clothes for the dolls too. Bettie was also an avid blue grass fan. Bettie and Bill would travel all over the country to listen to blue grass bands and visit with all their blue grass friends.

Bettie is preceeded in death by husband William Dean “Bill” Wallace and son Randy Lee Wallace.

She is survived by son Lyndell and wife Margie of Choctaw, OK, Wendell Wallace of Greenwood, AR, Alton and wife Shelley Wallace of Wanette, OK, brother Jim Wood of Jones, OK, Sam Wood of Jones, OK, sister Ann Bell of Shawnee, OK, along with 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

A visitation for Bettie will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034. A funeral service will occur Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Jones IOOF, Jones, OK.
