Bev Humphreys

Beverly Humphreys nee Fossett, 70, won her battle with breast cancer July 22, 2024, when she stepped over into eternity at her home in Edmond surrounded by family. Services have been entrusted to the care of Baggerley Funeral Home and a celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene at 6789 NW 39th st in Bethany. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in OKC. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4pm to 8pm at the funeral home.

“Bev” was born in Oklahoma City, on October 5, 1953, the second child of Elry and Marie Fossett. As a youth, Bev competed successfully in six-on-six basketball and beauty pageants, was a twirler, and played piano and organ at the First Baptist Church in Hinton, where she gave her life to the Lord and was baptized. Bev graduated from Hinton High School in 1971 before attending Oklahoma State University. She made great memories working many years with Southwest Airlines in Dallas, Oklahoma City, and other locations.

Bev was best known as partner in love and adventure to her husband of more than 32 years, Craig Humphreys, and as mom to her pride and joy, Sam Humphreys, 28. Bev was an encouraging, fun, and generous friend and neighbor to countless people of all ages. She loved hosting, travel, and being active, especially attending sporting events. Bev’s favorite thing was a beautiful sunset. She enjoyed the water, whether it was swimming or exercising in the pool, skiing on the lake, or riding the ocean waves on a boogie board.

Bev never met a stranger and built lasting friendships wherever she went, whether walking the course at Augusta National during The Masters, cheering in the stands at Thunder games, or being part of the ladies golf group at Oak Tree Country Club. Bev was a faithful follower of Jesus who lived out her faith by being good to people.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents Elry and Marie Fossett. Bev is survived by her husband Craig Humphreys; her brother Richard Fossett and wife Sharon; her Son Sam Humphreys and wife Reagan; step-daughters April Novak and husband Todd, Heather LaGuire and husband Nick, and Amy Norris and husband Scott; nieces Kelli Arrington and husband Paul, Jenni Gunter and husband Gary; great-nieces Amanda Tolentino and husband Patric, Maci Brooks and husband Jonathan, Rylei Proctor and husband Canton, and Ramsey Gunter; grandchildren Cole Novak and wife Lindsey, Emma Novak, Lily Novak,Hank Novak, and Cate LaGuire; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and other beloved friends and family members.
