Aubrey Prescott, known affectionately as “Bob” to those who knew him best, passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 79. A man of immense kindness, quiet strength, and legendary wit, Bob never met a stranger and lived a life defined by his love for God, his country, and his family.
Born in Oklahoma City, Bob’s life changed forever the day his sister, Betty, introduced him to a young woman named Odessa at the old TG&Y. It was a match made in heaven. Shortly after they married, Bob was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in the Vietnam War. A gentle and humble soldier, he served with bravery and was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice and service.
To his family and neighbors, Bob was the ultimate "Mr. Fix-it." He had a passion for tinkering and spent countless hours working on small engines; there truly wasn't much in this world he couldn't repair with his hardworking hands When he wasn't in the shop, he was usually enjoying a Sunday dinner and a NASCAR race." He was a man who would help anyone in need, offering his skills and his time without hesitation.
Bob was as famous for his humor as he was for his handiwork. Whether he was jokingly telling his nephews they’d end up in the "dog house" if they didn't behave, or insisting the color was "burple" instead of purple, his charm and unique vocabulary kept his loved ones smiling.
He is survived by his devoted wife, for fifty-nine years Odessa Prescott; his two daughters, Amy Prescott and Bobbi and her husband Jamie Williams; and his two grandchildren, Amanda and Moss Roomsburg, who will forever carry the lessons of integrity and hard work he instilled in them. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Swofford; his brother, Ronald Keith Prescott; and a large circle of cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Aubrey, and his sister, Betty.
