Christy, Stacy, Buz and family …
Thinking about you a ton on many occasions and at many certain times but … today especially my heart aches.  As your life turned upside down last summer you showed us all that our goal for the afterlife is ever important and nearer than we could ever imagine or plan for.  As your tear filled eyes lifted to the heavens we saw your trust and faith and we just knew that should be our faith filled path also.  Please feel the respect and love we all have for your family. Your mom‘s my cousin, she was the oldest cousin and the leader. She was always so cool. All of her siblings were looked up to from our family. They seem to be ahead of the pack of kids out there.

Unfortunately, Brett, I didn’t get to know you very much. When you were young, we went to one of our family reunion here in Oklahoma City that my grandpa IC Nance & Lillian Nance Wood put on every year the Tuesday before Thanksgiving we met at Will Rogers Park that Happen to be the last Thanksgiving before Donna and I moved to Kansas City for 10 years. The next time I saw you was with your father at a thunders basketball game. You are all grown up you were so energetic and so full of  life. 
You have already been missed!!!

I am devastated on just hearing of your son’s tragic accident this past July. There are no words to explain my grief or to understand yours. I will be praying for you & Buz and Stacy & her family, as well as the extended family. My love for you has never wavered. I just wish I would have known so I could have joined in with others in trying to comfort you. Our sons only born 3 1/2 months smart, and mine is gone from me as well. I will keep you forever in my heart. The broken heart 💔 over the loss of a child is something us parents should never have to endure. May God lift you up in your darkest hours of grief. I don’t understand God’s ways. But may angels of comfort watch over you the rest of your days. Love you forever & a day my dear friend. 🙏🏼💙🩵😘

When we loose a loved one, we are so grateful for the history we shared together and the memories we will have are forever! So all I know is those that loved them will always miss them.  And now we get to keep them in our hearts forever.

Dear Buzz, Kristy and Stacy - I am so sad to hear about the loss of Brett.  We have so many wonderful memories of our years together at Lake Tenkiller and Brett was always such a part of those memories.

I will be unable to attend the celebration of life service as I will be out of town.  I have been thinking of you daily since the accident and keep you in my prayers.  

I pray for peace and comfort for you in your days of grief.

Words cannot express what Brett meant to me. Summers at the lake, motorcycle racing and something truly dear to me, our Spartan races together. Our goal was to always end up top 25%, but if it wasn’t for me slowing Brett down, he would have easily been at the top of the stats. Brett would lead the pace for me and would always holler out “you okay Uncle Bob?”. By the end of the race, strangers would be rooting me on and calling me “Uncle Bob” as well. I will never forget the wonderful times we spent together….playing in the mud! 

Bret was a beast at anything he ever competed in. He was truly a “Superman”!

He was a loving  and caring son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew and dear friend to many. He will truly be missed and has left a hole in my heart that can never be filled.

I wish I had stayed in touch more but I’m thankful for the memories. Without you and Jeff helping me I never would have landed a flip on a wakeboard, which was high on my bucket list. He also taught me to ride the motorcycle I bought from the Yamaha dealership he worked at during college. The clutch cable had too much slack in it and I was having trouble shifting gears, of course he came over to help me fix that. I blew out three tires within the first month of buying it and Brett only let me pay for one. Unfortunately, he also talked me into buying a really stupid helmet with the quintessential trucker girl sticker on the back. I don’t think it was possible to be around Brett and not be enjoying life. RIP buddy

Brett was a loyal and loving friend. He always gave the biggest and longest hugs of all my friends and he took every opportunity to say “I love you” and never held back.  I’ll really miss hearing his raspy voice and his fun-loving and adventurous nature. 

Any time we got together, we all talked stories about “that one time, Brett this” or “remember when we were here, and Brett just came out of nowhere and did this?”.  Those stories will never stop.  Our memories of him are deeply rooted and will be remembered forever.

Brett was both a coworker and friend of mine. He was always friendly and had a smile on his face. He is already dearly missed.

To Buz Kristy and Stacy everyone loved Brett . And he will be truly missed . This is a big loss for me as I loved Brett . He loved the lake as much as anyone I know . He and Chris were on lake Arcadia or Tenkiller in their younger years sking or wakeboarding . So many good memories of Brett . Brett passed doing what he loved however he passed way to young . He will be truly missed by many
