Carter grew up in Edmond and attended Edmond schools. As he grew into a young man he had many good friends like Mark Casto, Peggy (Johnson) Ketch, and brother Robert Johnson.
Over the years Carter worked as a Plumber’s Apprentice, in the oil fields as a Roustabout with a good friend, and finally 18 years as a Diesel Tractor Mechanic, retiring in 2020 after 14 years with P&K Equipment.
He lived a full life with family and many friends, but most important to Carter was living life on his own terms.
Carter leaves behind brothers; Chris Spurgeon, Joe Spurgeon, Richard Charles Spurgeon, and R. Allen Spurgeon; sister, Florence Van Horn; daughter, Dana Martin; three grandchildren; and more good and caring friends than he realized.
