Curtis, “Doc” to his friends, born 1-2-27 passed away 9-20-12 due to complications of growing old. Born & raised in Hugo, Ok, after graduating from Hugo HS he served 4 years in air force. On the road to becoming “the greatest salesman on earth” he worked as Safeway manager, opened a small café in Hugo, Hickok’s in Dallas before blessing 3M Co in 1953 with his over the top skills. He married hometown sweetheart Donna Jean Bucklin in 1949, moved to Dallas, TX where their 3 children were born. Donna was the love of his life & he was always amazed she chose him. She passed away in 1997- he often stated “not a day goes by that I don’t think of your mother”. He was known for his generous heart, great sense of humor & “dapper” way of dressing. He worked hard, provided well for his family & always took time to tell a story & bring a smile to every face. As an avid golfer he rarely missed a tee off with his lifelong golf buddies. With only a high school education he put 3 kids through college, lived debt free, saved for retirement, had a home in Oak Tree living his dream of playing golf every day & driving a big Cadillac. He retired from 3M Co in 1990-devoted company man for 37 years. Being “Poppa” to 6 beautiful granddaughters gave him numerous opportunities to tease, entertain & hand out “street money”. He was fortunate to find late in life companion & married Margaret Spies in 2007. Proceeded in death by his parents; Curtis Odell & Julia Davis, wife Donna, sister Ellen Jewel, brothers Ralph & Prentice. Survived by: Wife Margaret Spies Berryhill, Daughters Lynda Schumann husband Bill Troy, TX, Leslie Berryhill Derby, KS, Son Don Berryhill wife Rachel Woodlands, TX Grandaughters Jessie Oestreich husband Keith, Carly DeDonder husband Kris, Lindsay Stone husband Russell, Alli Wolfe husband James, Amanda Dillon husband Jay & Hannah Berryhill.
