

David Eugene “Gene” Quinnett, 87, was born March 1, 1928, in Shawnee, OK, to parents Henry & Eva (Collett) Quinnett and passed away January 5, 2016, at his home in Edmond, OK. David married Emma Jane Kubicek, April 7, 1951, at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Shawnee, OK and was married for almost 65 years. The couple previously resided in Shawnee and Guthrie, OK. They attend St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond where David served as an usher and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
David served in the military during the end of WWII and during the North Korean conflict. David farmed wheat, was maintenance foreman at St. Benedict and Kerr-McGee and technician for Cook Electric. David retired from Ralston-Purina in Edmond as a Senior Industrial Maintenance Safety Engineer. After retirement, David and Jane enjoyed traveling around the United States in their RV, making new friends and finding new places to explore.
David is survived by his wife, Jane Quinnett and five children Cheri & husband Bill Grundmann of Tigard, Oregon; David B. & wife Terena Quinnett of Oklahoma City, OK; Paul & wife Anna Quinnett of Tomball, TX; Chris & wife Cindy Quinnett of Mannford, OK; and John & wife Beverly Quinnett of Edmond. David is also survived by 11 grandchildren Michael & wife Amanda Grundmann of San Jose, CA; David & wife Jessica Grundmann of Marlborough, MA; Sara, Paul Jr., Lydia, Noah, Abigail and Hanna Quinnett, of Tomball, TX; Christopher Jr. & wife Holly Quinnett of Clarmore, OK; Craig & wife Molly Quinnett of Minot, ND; and Jessica Quinnett of Edmond, OK and 2 great-grandchildren Roland Grundmann of Santa Barbara, CA, and Allen Grundmann of Marlborough, MA.
On Friday January 8, 2016 viewing will be at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK from 9am to 6pm, with a vigil service at Baggerley at 6pm and a Rosary to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1pm, Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 900 S Littler Ave, Edmond. Committal services will be 4pm, Saturday January 9, 2016, at Resthaven Memorial Park 16006 S. Rock Creek Rd, Shawnee, OK.
