

Betty J. Keel passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015 in an auto accident. Betty was born in Apache, Oklahoma to Helen and Charles Nelson. She went to nursing school and started her nursing career in Blackwell, OK. There she met and married her beloved husband, Ronald J. Keel (passed March 1997) and they were married 30 years. She worked as an LPN at Edmond Memorial Hospital.
Betty is survived by her devoted children: Stacia, Susie and husband William, and Debbie and husband Matt; grandchildren: Brandon and wife Becky, Allysa, Jeremy, Cohen, Fisher, and Madden; sister, MaryAnn Barton of Apache; brother, Frank Nelson of Auburn, WA; and her dogs, Pepper and Molly.
Betty was so full of life, with a vibrant spirit and witty humor. Her laugh was contagious. Betty was the president of the Classic Singles Club at St. John the Baptist in Edmond, OK. She was also involved in the Red Hat Society of Oklahoma City. She enjoyed playing cards every week with her friends and going out and having fun with her buddy Ben.
Friends and family are invited to Baggerley Funeral Home for a viewing on Monday, May 4th from 5pm-6:45pm. A wake and rosary service will follow in the chapel at 7pm. The funeral service is 10am, Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at St. John the Baptist on 9th and Boulevard in Edmond.
