Decillion “Dee” G. Steele, 93, of Edmond, OK, went home to be with our Lord Jesus on October 10, 2014. Dee was born in Holdenville, OK to Daniel Johnson and Laura (Honey) Bryant. She married Milburn Steele and they had two children. Dee raised the children while her Milburn was serving our country over seas from 1944 thru 1946. Those were very hard years for Dee. Dee worked at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City from 1949 thru 1959. She enjoyed working with those who loved the Lord. She began each day with a prayer. She was then employed at Tinker AFB where she eventually retired in the mid 90’s. She was a long-time member of Shield Baptist Church and in later years was a member of Henderson Hill Baptist Church in Edmond. She loved square dancing and round dancing in her earlier years. The center of her life was her faith in Jesus, her great love for her family and extended family. If ever there was a mother who hoped all things, endured all things, who was strong and loving and always took good care of her family it would be my Mother. What a great example she was to show us the love Jesus has for us. Dee is survived by her sister Joy Veirs as well as two sons, Verle (John) and Larry; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Decillion “Dee” G. Steele will be at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
