

Iva Lou Gibson, a Godly loving mother, wife and provider for her family, passed away at home OKC on May 26, 2012. She was born July 17, 1921, in Edmond, OK, to parents Louis & Ines (Smith) Deplois. She married Jack Gibson in June, 1946. She was a long time member and worked for many years at the First Baptist Church of OKC and then later retired from the VA Medical Center. She volunteered for the Red Cross during WWII and made dolls for the Salvation Army. Her yard was always full of flowers and children and she enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society.
Iva Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Harold and Billy Joe. She is survived by her sons, Don Gibson & wife Zella and Lou Gibson & wife Penny; granddaughters, Hydi and Paula; brother, Tom Deplois & wife Veronica; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Baggerley, Tuesday 4pm to 8pm and Wednesday 8am to 12pm. A graveside service will be 2pm, Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Iva Lou’s honor may be made to OK Baptist Boys Ranch Town.
