He was born on March 2, 1927, in El Dorado, Arkansas, son of Grace and Oswald, brother to O’Letha and William. He served in the Navy in WWII and proudly served on SS, LST 688 and was awarded 6 battle stars. Upon his discharge, he attended the University of Central Arkansas. He married Peggy Dickerson on May 25, 1947 and both graduated in 1949. He later received a Master’s Degree. After working as a teacher (which became our family career choice) he became an FBI agent, serving in many leadership roles, ending his career in 1977 as an ASAC in the Oklahoma City office. He earned his Doctorate in business and taught at both OCU and UCO.
He leaves behind wife, Peggy, and daughters Terri and Jamie. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. His family also includes sons-in-law Sandy Wiseman and James Tyra, grandchildren and spouses, Sarah and Brandon Collins and Steve and Beth Wiseman and his adored great-grandchildren: Mazie, Annabelle, Kaleb, Henry and Rhys.
We are happy to know he now is riding the range with John Wayne!
We especially thank Centennial Hospice and the memory unit caregivers at Touchmark.
Memorial services will be at 2pm, Monday, May 16, 2016, at Touchmark at Coffee Creek. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Donations can be made by check in memory of James Brewster to the Alzheimer’s Association – Oklahoma Chapter or online at www.alz.org/oklahoma.
