Born January 10, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Jim attended Choctaw High School where #76 played football and baseball for his beloved YellowJackets and was Valedictorian of his senior class. Jim attended college at East Central and completed his degree at Central State University in Edmond, OK. Jim worked for Medicare for 39 years, including over 20 years as a Senior Hearing Officer.
Jim met Jan, the love of his life, in 1969 and they were married for 53 years. Jim’s passions were watching the Sooners and following his grandchildren’s sports and activities, including seeing his grandson Aidan play football for the Southlake Dragons just a few months ago.
A compassionate and loving soul, his purpose in life was to share the love of the Lord by caring for others. A lifelong learner and teacher, he studied and shared the Bible through his Sunday school class that he led for the past 30 years at Edmond’s First Baptist Church.
For Christmas 1995, Jim gave Jan a new Bible with this verse inscribed: “The Lord’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease. For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
Jim is survived by his wife Jan, his son Chad and wife Angie, his daughter Kristi and husband Nathan Cavrich, his grandchildren Abby, Haley, Aidan, Alexis, and Avery, his mother Marian Aduddell, his brother Larry Aduddell and wife Martie McCain, and sister Jamie and husband Scott Donaldson. He is preceded in death by his father Jerral and his oldest granddaughter Sarah Katherine.
Jim’s favorite verse was Psalm 122:1 - I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord”.
