John Michael McAfee Ammon

John Michael McAfee Ammon left this world to be with God on December 10, 2013. John was born on June 3, 1987 in Oklahoma City. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity and served as President of the student Society of Petroleum Engineers. In his career, he remained a member of the Professional Society of Petroleum Engineers while he worked for Denbury Resources and excelled as a petroleum engineer. John was a passionate about music, whether he was singing and playing his guitar or attending a concert to see his favorite bands. He always enjoyed restoring old cars, cooking for his family, tending to his beautiful flowers and playing fantasy football with his friends. John was a born and bred Sooner fan and also loved Thunder basketball. While he had many passions the greatest joy in his life was his cherished son, Jackson. John’s charm, sense of humor, and kindness were well known, and he lit up any room with his vibrant spirit. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Bob McAfee; grandmother, Henrietta McAfee, and grandfather, John Arthur Ammon. John is the beloved son of Mike and Sharon Ammon, brother of Beth Poston, brother-in-law of Thomas Poston, grandson of Gladys Ammon, fiancé of Madison Baird, and devoted father of Jackson Ammon. John was lovingly known by his large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins and John Michael or John Boy, and to his countless friends as Johnny B. We are comforted by knowing that John is with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. A Memorial service for John Michael will be 10:00am, Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Baggerley Funeral Home in Edmond.
