Joseph “Joe” Komuro passed away on Monday with loved ones so tenderly by his side. Joe will be remembered for his deep love for his family and his contagious laugh. His story will live on for generations.
Joe’s parents and older siblings immigrated to America in 1923, shortly thereafter; Joe was born in Los Angeles, California as the first American citizen of his family. Joe grew up a natural athlete with an enormous passion for baseball. During WWII, as a Japanese American, Joe and his family were relocated to the Arizona Gila River Internment Camp. Joe graduated from High School at the Camp and then briefly served his country in the United States Army. In 1964, Joe married his wife Roberta, together with their children; they built many happy memories and lived a simple life. He truly lived out his American dream.
Joe is preceded by his father and mother; Kameji and Katsu matsushita Komuro, sister; Sachi Mendonca, brother; Paul Komero, wife of 34 years Roberta Komuro, daughter; Colette Keller, son-in-law; Jim Keller, and son; Bill Ingram.
Joe is survived by his two sisters; Mitzi Alviar and Shizu Komuro, niece; Therona Ramos, nephew; Richard Thomas; son and daughter-in-law; Bobby and Cindy Ingram, daughter; Sandy Shredder, ten grandchildren; Katherine and Britt Hoss, Bobbie Joyce and Tim Ciaccio, Chris, Adam, and Alyssa Ingram, Mike Scott, Joey Scott, Brandi and Jeromy Howard, Cody Keller, Sandra and Benito Rodriguez, fourteen great-grandchildren; Bryce, Broc, and Brooklin Hoss, Madison and Ross Samford, Amber and Mickayla Scott, Chris, Dylan, and Kailey Scott, Hannah and Makinzie Howard, Sophia and Colette Rodriguez, and great-great grandchild; Lillee Hoss.
