Katheryn Louise DeVore Garrette

Katheryn began work at a young age at Kaiser’s Ice Cream Parlor and then Veazey’s Drug Store. She married Jack Garrette in 1949. She was a homemaker and later became a certified ceramics instructor, teaching out of her home. She loved camping, fishing, going to church, and witnessing for Christ. When Jack retired, they moved to Meeker, OK; literally building their own home on 63 acres, complete with a pecan and peach orchard.

Katheryn was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mike; daughter-in-law, Clare; sisters, Elizabeth and Ella Mae; brother, Floyd; grandson, Michual; granddaughter-in-law, Rachel Garrette; and great-grandson Maxwell. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack; daughter, Dianna Williams & husband Raymond; son, Steve Garrette & wife Debbie; grandchildren: Donna Schroeder & husband Robert, David Shattuck & wife Shelly, Darren Shattuck & wife Brittany, Brian Garrette, Courtney Wilks & husband Bryan, Rachel Mosley & husband Eric, and Chelsea Carlisle & husband Michael; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Patrick O’Neal & wife Cindy and Patricia Letarte & husband Bill; and many other family members and friends.

The family is comforted by the knowledge that Katheryn is now in eternal peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The family would like to thank all of the physicians, nurses, and other caregivers who took such excellent care of Katheryn.

Funeral services will be 10am, Friday, July 17, 2015, at Resthaven Memory Gardens: Little Chapel of the Roses in Oklahoma City.
