Lotus Maxine Clevenger

Lotus Maxine Taylor, born in Lipscomb, Texas on April 11th 1916 to Rada Ann Beasley and Elmer Curtis Taylor, went to be with her heavenly father on November 2, 2012. She grew up with seven beloved siblings, Margaret Eileen Bowden, Joe Elmer Taylor, Doris Juanita Sayers, Elmer Dane Taylor, Donald Dee Taylor, Bill Dolph Taylor and Betty Lee Liston, on the family farm in Muhall, Oklahoma. On October 1, 1953 she married Calvin Dory Clevenger and became step-mother to Ronald Dean, Jeanette Lee, and Calvin Dee Clevenger. On August 9th 1953 they welcomed a daughter Velda Kathleen. Lotus and Calvin owned and operated Clevenger Electric in Lawton, Oklahoma before moving to Kenai, Alaska in the mid-1960s. The two retired in Bainbridge Island, Washington. Lotus returned to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 2000 to be near her beloved sisters. She was an active member of the Christian Church throughout her life. She is survived by her loving granddaughter Patricia Clevenger; her children Velda, Ronald, Jeanette, and C. Dee Clevenger; her sister Betty Taylor-Liston; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, November 9th at Baggerley Funeral Home with interment following 2:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Lawton.
