Marjorie Faye Burkhart

She was born February, 25, 1927, in Davenport, OK, a daughter of the late Andrew & Alva Jane Simon.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband of many loving years, Harold E. Burkhart; one son, James Thomas Watkins; four brothers and two sister in law’s, Kenneth Simon and his wife Ann, George Simon and his wife Rita, Bob Simon and Bill Simon; and one daughter in law, Mary Ellen Watkins.

She was an active member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church in Edmond for many years and also attended New Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Marge retired after working more than 30 years from Phillip’s Petroleum. She loved to travel, had an eye for art, enjoyed baking and really any type of cooking. She loved to sew and was very talented with her sewing skills. She loved God and her family very dearly.

Marge is survived by three children, Don Watkins and his wife Sheri of Denton, TX; Richard (Dick) Watkins of Edmond, OK; Vicki Castleberry and her husband Randy of Eufaula, OK; two sister in laws, Linda Simon of Yale, OK and Velda Simon of Kermit, TX; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Jeff, Chap, Tad, Andy, Olivia and Laura; several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; and her beloved brown poodle Bogey. She also leaves many other friends and family members behind who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services are through Baggerly Funeral Home in Edmond and will be Graveside only, held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, with Pastor Kevin Bowen officiating.
