Neta Pierce Unger

On Monday morning, May 18, 2015, our beloved mother, Neta, met with our dear Lord in Heaven. She is finally free and healthy again, after a long illness which she fought courageously for many years. She was welcomed into Heaven by her beloved husband, Charles, Jr.; her parents, Ola Mae & Edley Delten Pierce; and siblings, Sam and Nola.

Oneta Fern Unger was born July 11, 1935, in Houston, MO, and grew up in Commerce, OK. She excelled in high school and loved cheerleading. She met Charles Unger, Jr., soon after school and they were married on March 1, 1953. They had a picture perfect marriage, full of joyous love for their entire family. They enjoyed many hobbies, charity work, and live theater. She was very devoted to their children’s school projects and the PTA.

Neta worked for many years in women’s fashions at McCall’s and Denton’s Fashion Center. Her love and devotion to her work was incredible.

Neta is survived by her daughter, Jerianne Davis; son, Charles Unger, III, & wife Vicki; grandsons, Dustin Davis & wife Kelli and Drew Davis; step-grandson, AJ Evans & wife Sandra; great-grandson, Cooper Evans; sister, Patricia Johnson; and many other very close cousins, family members, and wonderful friends, all of whom she dearly loved.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the faculty of Epworth Assisted Living Center for their compassion and professionalism in caring for Neta for many years. Thank you!

Viewing will be at Baggerley, Friday, May 22, from 9am to 8pm with the family to receive friends from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a private graveside at Memorial Park Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Epworth Villa.
