

Neva Imogene Hatfield Kosted was born to William Henry Harrison Hatfield and Katie Holtzclaw Hatfield on May 17, 1923, in Guthrie, Oklahoma and entered into eternity on December 22, 2016, in Rusk, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur H. Kosted; two brothers, Willis (Stu) Hatfield and Marvin Hatfield; two sisters, Doris Hatfield Stotlar and Mary Lou Hatfield Jackson; daughter in law, Pamela Klinkevich Kosted.
She is survived by four sons: Phillip Wayne Kosted and wife, Emily of Rusk, TX, Paul Arthur Kosted of Oklahoma City, Charles Dale Kosted and wife, Donna of Austin, TX, and Randolph Martin (Randy) Kosted and wife Paula of Eureka, MT; two sisters-in-law, Vena Hatfield of Ventura, CA and Joan Hatfield of Stillwater, OK; and life-long friend, Dorothy Dell Beck Laughlin of Tacoma, WA. Seven grandchildren: Katrina Kosted of Austin, TX, Kurt Kosted and wife Kris of Pflugerville, TX, Zeb Kosted of Missoula, MT, Nathan Kosted of Eureka, MT, Christian Kosted and wife Sara of Englewood, CO, Katelyn Kosted of Corpus Christi, TX, and Cole Kosted of Austin, TX. Four great-grandchildren: Candace, Raquel, Olivia, and Preston and numerous nieces and nephews.
Neva was a resident of Oklahoma City for approximately 70 years and was an active member of Zion and Immanuel Lutheran churches. She was active in LWML (Lutheran Women’s Missionary League) and sang in the choirs and served in other lay ministries including a quilting group that made quilts for distribution by Lutheran World Relief. Neva was a charter member of Green Thumbs Garden Club in her neighborhood for over 50 years and was the last living member. Neva also was an active member of Musgrave-Pennington Neighborhood Association and volunteered at Linwood and Buchanan elementary schools when her boys were attending. She also was a longtime volunteer at St. Ann’s Home Nursing Home.
Neva centered her life around family, home, church and community. She will be fondly and lovingly remembered by many. Besides gardening, genealogy research and homemaking, Neva enjoyed traveling making several trips to Europe, Hawaii, Canada and most of the continental US, and took cruises on the Rhine River and to the Bahamas in addition to traveling to visit family.
