

Richard A. “Dick” Stults left our earthly home to enter his Heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, on February 25, 2015. He was born February 4, 1926, in Bray, OK, to Jesse & Beulah Stults. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lois Graham Jones; and brother, Wesley Stults. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Sarah of the home; daughter, Susan Stults of Oklahoma City; son, Lindell Stults & wife Shawna of Luther, OK; grandson, Ryan Stults of Stillwater, OK; brother, Alvie Stults of Oregon; and many other family members and friends.
Like many American teenagers during World War II, 17 year-old Dick joined the US Navy in 1943, while still a senior at Bray High School. He was a member of the Amphibious Force on an L.S.T. After serving in the Navy, he was given the opportunity to get his college degree. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Central State University and his Master’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma. Dick was involved in coaching and school administration for over thirty years, serving as Luther Elementary Principal for the majority of the time.
Dick and Sarah worshipped joyfully alongside friends at the Wellston Church of Christ for many years and in more recent years at the Luther Church of Christ. Dick served Central Rural Electric Coop and also the Oklahoma Farmers Union / American Farmers and Ranchers Board of Directors for over 20 years.
Dick loved his Lord and family above all. He enjoyed farming the land, raising cattle, and traveling with the love of his life, his wife Sarah. His greatest joy was family, being especially proud of his grandson Ryan.
Viewing will be at Baggerley Funeral Home from 12pm to 8pm, Sunday. Funeral services will be 10am, Monday, March 2, 2015, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel with interment at 11:30am at Luther Cemetery in Luther, OK.
