

Ronald Eugene Tate, a lifelong Oklahoman and devoted family man, was born on July 5, 1946, in Ada, Oklahoma, to loving parents Kermit Tate and Barbara Jean Bates. He was raised with strong values that shaped a life marked by service, integrity, and deep love for his family and community.
He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, an education that launched a long and respected professional career. Ron proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that remained a meaningful part of his life. His service instilled in him a deep respect for commitment and perseverance, qualities that were evident to all who knew him.
Ron showed his love for Jesus in all aspects of his life. He was generous with any need as it arose, and his daily Bible reading and daily prayer time with Linda were very important to him. Ron spent his entire career at Peters & Chandler CPA firm, retiring as a co-managing partner. He was dedicated to being a trusted advisor to his clients and received his 50-year membership pin from the Oklahoma Society of CPAs in 2025. He loved hiking and fishing, with many trips to the Blue River.
Ron is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years Karen J. Tate, his daughter Angela Janet Tate, and his parents. He is survived by his wife Linda Tate, to whom he has been married to since November 3, 2001, his children Kerri Tate Williams and her husband Andrew, Matt Williams and his wife Lisa, Mandy Rankin and her husband Todd, and Annie Anderson and her husband Jordan, his brother Kenneth Ray Tate and his wife Shannon, and his grandchildren Thomas Eugene Williams, Jackson and Rett Williams, AJ, Ava, Stella, and Beckett Rankin, and Magnolia and Phoenix Anderson.
Above all, Ron will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, and the example he set through a life well lived. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will continue through all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at New Hope Church of Christ, located at 700 W 2nd St, Edmond, OK 73003, on February 6, 2026, starting at 1:00 pm.
Following the funeral service, a committal service will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, beginning at 2:30 pm.
