

Ryan Ruidera, 38, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on March 19, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of innovation, curiosity, and a deep love for an active life. He was born on September 28, 1987, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Emilio Rubio Ruidera and Grace Mata Ruidera.
Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and went on to build a meaningful career marked by creativity and forward-thinking contributions. Among his proudest professional accomplishments was his work in advancing 3D metal printing technology for jet turbines, an achievement that reflected both his technical brilliance and his passion for engineering innovation. He was also a dedicated member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Throughout his life, Ryan embraced new experiences and communities, living in Chicago, Illinois; San Diego, California; and Salem, Massachusetts, before returning to Edmond in 2024. Each place held special meaning for him, particularly the long cycling routes along Lake Shore Drive in Chicago and the scenic rides through Balboa Park in San Diego, settings he often described as part of his “perfect day,” which would end with watching an NBA game.
Ryan had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. He loved punk rock and R&B music, found joy in 1990s and early 2000s sitcoms, and loved the color green. He was happiest when he was active, whether cycling for miles or enjoying racket sports, which he loved most. His sense of humor, curiosity, and energy left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Grace Ruidera, and his brother, Robert Ruidera of Midlothian, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father, Emilio Ruidera.
Ryan wished to be remembered as someone who pushed boundaries in engineering while living life fully and actively. His legacy is one of innovation, movement, and joy, reminders to pursue passions wholeheartedly and to never stop exploring the world around us.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
