In loving memory of Samuel Alexander Shadid, born on November 7, 1992, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and residing in Moore, Oklahoma until his passing on May 26, 2024, at the age of 31. Samuel, known affectionately as Sammy, brought light and love into the lives of all who knew him.
The cherished son of Keith H. Shadid and Jamie Jill Shadid, Sammy's journey was one of purpose and passion. He pursued his dreams with determination, graduating with a Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma, a testament to his intellect and drive.
Samuel's vibrant spirit was fueled by his love for epic video game music, with orange and purple as his favorite colors, reflecting his vibrant personality. He found joy in simple pleasures, his perfect day defined by the warmth of family and the laughter of friends, engaged in activities that brought them all together.
A connoisseur of wit and humor, Sammy's laughter was easily provoked by sarcasm, dry humor, his wife's sassiness, and the humor of his twin brother. Yet, beyond the laughter, Sammy was a teacher of profound virtues. He exemplified selflessness, love, kindness, generosity, and honor, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him.
Sammy's heart overflowed with love for his wife, Rachel Anae McNamar, whom he married on April 3, 2021. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a beacon of strength and support for each other.
Among his many passions, Sammy found solace in the embrace of nature, the thrill of gaming, and the companionship of his beloved bunny, Ori. His accomplishments were many: a black belt in taekwondo, a certified scuba diver, and a senior software engineer for Boeing. He also stood proudly by his wife's side, deserving of an honorary degree for the unwavering support he offered her in achieving her dreams.
Sammy's legacy lives on through his wife Rachel, his mother Jill Shadid, brother Zachary Michael Shadid and his wife Elizabeth Pauline Shadid, as well as his aunt Valerie Adams, cousins Kristen, Katie, and Sam and his bunny, Ori. His memory will forever be cherished by all whose lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his father, Keith Shadid.
In Sammy's passing, we remember him not only for his achievements but for the love he shared, the kindness he bestowed, and the light he brought into the world. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
A memorial celebration service for Sammy will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034.
