Sandra (Sandy) Kay “Fee-Fa” Ward went to her heavenly home on September 20, 2023. Sandy was born November 1, 1942 in Loma Linda, California to Tom and Katie Hathaway of Colton, California. Sandy Graduated from High School (1960) in Colton, California.
Sandy was united in marriage to Joseph Henderson Ward Sr. of Anaheim, California on November 4, 1967. Throughout their 55 years of marriage together, the couple resided in New York, California, and eventually settled in Oklahoma.
Sandy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Fee-Fa,) aunt, sister, and friend. Sandy was a faithful woman who deeply loved the Lord, her family, and warm-heartedly welcomed everyone with open arms. People were naturally drawn to her sweet spirit. She was at the top of everyone’s list when they needed a prayer warrior. Even in her final days, and at her weakest, she continued to display and provided positivity, strength, comfort, and refuge to all. Sandy had an unwavering faith that would move mountains!
Sandy enjoyed antique shopping, crocheting blankets, and looking out for Cardinals. She would always say; “When a Cardinal appears, an Angel is near.” She found her life’s passion about 25 years ago in Genealogy Research, focusing primarily on helping others determine their Native American Ancestry. Sandy was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 55 years Joseph Henderson Ward Sr., her son, Steven Dale Ward (wife Lindy) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; daughter Jamie Christine Ward Harris of Yukon, Oklahoma; brother Larry Thomas Hathaway (wife Kim) of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother-in-law William Barry Ward (wife Karen) of Denver, North Carolina; grandchildren Matthew Ward, Daniel Ward, Tommy Ward, Sydney Rankin, and Kayte Clifton; nieces Clair Ward, Traci Hathaway; nephew Josh Hathaway and great nieces, Ella Williams, Ajila Hathaway and Walela Hathaway. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law, George “Georgie” Ward Jr.
As we mourn her loss, we also rejoice knowing the impact and legacy she left on each and every life she crossed paths with. Her countless and selfless deeds of kindness, always giving and never expecting anything in return. Her precious smile and comforting spirit may be gone from this temporary place on Earth… But, her eternal light and love will forever shine and radiate in our hearts. May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace- until we meet again.
Matthew 5:4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
