

Willie E. “Bill” Wright Jr. was born May 1, 1920 in Arcadia, Oklahoma to Willie E. Wright and Elizabeth Reece Wright. He was the second of six children born to that union. His parents, wife Christine, two brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death. He attended school in Arcadia and graduated in 1938. He served in the armed forces during World War II, with combat service in Africa and Europe. He served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Army in 1966. After retiring from the Army, he was employed by the Federal Government and retired in 1986, with a total of 43 years and 11 months of Federal service. He became a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in 1995. He served as a trustee, and sung with the male chorus. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Robert W. Wright and family of Edmond, OK; one daughter, Fay Rowland and family of Wichita, KS; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; long time friend Algusta McGee; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services for Willie will be 2:00 Tuesday, October 5 at Baggerley Funeral Home chapel in Edmond. Interment will be 2:00 Wednesday, October 6 at Fort Sill Post Cemetery.
