I met Al in Yellowknife,  we both worked for JSL for years together. We even rented a place together for a while. He was one hell of a guy and he will be terribly missed. 
 One moment I will never forget , was when our foreman (Doug Rudkevich) was celebrating the birth of their child and AL and I had to load a half empty keg into the back seat of his monarch lol. Spigot went off and that car smelled of beer for weeks !!!! He was truly an amazing,ing man. I will miss you my friend !!! My condolences to his entire family, he was taken too soon 

Darryl I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. If he was anything like you and it sounds like he was, then he must have been a wonderful man. Condolences to all of the family. May you cherish and keep alive all the good memories of him.

I worked with Al for a number of years at NorthwesTel in Yellowknife. Him and I spent quite some time on the road together around the NWT and shared quite a few laughs and maybe a few beers here and there! There isn’t anything I can say about Al that hasn’t been said, he was funny and defiantly a good person through and through.

Rest easy big guy.

Yesterday we said goodbye to you Allan, but you will never be forgotten.  Goodbye is not forever, goodbye is not the end, it simply means we'll miss you until we meet again. Make sure you check in with your Dad and brothers every once in a while.  Also, say hi to your Mom and tell her that we miss her.

My sincere condolences to the LaFrance Family. Uncle Al you were one of a kind , my heart is heavy with sadness, until we meet again my friend. 

What can I say about Allan that hasn't already been said. His sense of humor was off the charts, he played a mean game of cribbage, was a great cook, loved to hunt and fish and the most important part was his kind and generous heart. Al was always there to help when a friend was in need, no questions asked just pitched in and got the job done. I'll never forget him jumping on the trampoline with the girls, was hard to tell who was having the most fun! So many laughs and memories over the years, from the dinners, to camping, football games, watching Canada win gold at the Olympics, poker, the list could go on and on. To Bob, Cherie and the rest of Al's family my deepest condolences and love to you all. To my dear friend Allan...you will be greatly missed, especially your hugs, you always gave the best hugs!! May you rest in peace and until we meet again...love ya buddy

Al will be missed by many he was always ready to help anyone. My memory is very recent. We were in Bob and Cherrie's garage having beers and I had a few to many. I was sitting in one of the office chairs and rolled the chair back against Bobs tool chest the key was in the lock and broke it off in the lock!. Al said no problem and took the lock out of the chest and managed to get the broken key out and put the lock back in the chest. This is just one of I'm sure many times Al would spring into action help a friend out!! My deepest condolences to  Bob and Cherrie and the whole Lafrance family 

Our deepest condolences to Eugene & family. I will always remember Allan as he lived with us for a while when we lived in Yellowknife. He was a pleasure to be part of our family.  Will never forget the time, he was with us at our friends house having supper. The food was buffet style on the counter. We all filled our plates & all of a sudden, someone noticed Allan had gladiola bulbs on his plate! Sandy had been sprouting the bulbs & had them on the kitchen counter...Bob thought they were appetizers!! We all had a good laugh & teased him for a long time about this.

All my memories of Allan are fantastic which is a testament to his character. Kind, gentle, helpful and friendly. Thankful to have met such a wonderful man. Until we meet again.

Al was always a fun loving and caring person, I will always remember the good times and his laughter.

Allan was one of the kindest people you could ever meet, his generosity was second to none. He would truly give you the shirt off his back and never ask for anything in return. I will always cherish the many times we spent together  camping, fishing, dinner, drinks and his constant luck at cribbage.  RIP my friend.
