

Barry is predeceased by his mom, Irene and father, Emil; brothers, Ben and Darrel; his son-in-law, Quinton and brother-in-law, Rodney. He is survived and deeply missed by his wife, Liz Hayward of Edmonton; daughters, Sherry, Shelley (Phil), Kimberley (Les), Step-Children, Stacey (Terry), Maegan (Charlie), Michael (Colette) and son, Troy (Jennifer); as well as his brother, Jim (Darlene); sisters, Debbie (Doug), Linda, Sandy (Steve) and Sharon (Art). Barry was known as Papa to his 18 grandchildren all of whom he loved deeply.
Born in Manning, Alberta in 1949, Barry earned his legendary work ethic in the fields starting at a young age. He went on to work for Atco for over 30 years, in two different stints, where he was well regarded by his co-workers and employer alike before retiring in 2015.
Always willing to lend a hand, Barry could often be spotted in towns all over Alberta, with a big smile on his face on his way to assist his loved ones with projects. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Barry enjoyed camping, fishing, and golfing.
Barry undeniably lead by example. He was a dependable, kind, patient and caring man whose influence will live on through his family and friends forever. We will always love you and miss you, Barry.
