Betty Jamison (nee Hansen) passed gently away at her home on a beautiful sunny afternoon shortly before her 96th birthday.
Betty was born in Enchant, Alberta and moved with her parents, 6 sisters and 4 brothers to homestead north of Fort Assiniboine during the depression. When she was 18, she moved to Edmonton and met the love of her life, Spence, in the Highlands area where they made their home together for over 75 years. Betty was predeceased by Spence 4 years ago and she is survived by her four daughters, Judy (Gary), Lorna (Yvan), Linda (Con) and Barbara (Garth); 11 grandchildren, Laurel, Lindsey, Rebecca, Chris, Martine, Nicholas, Peter, Anna, Katie, Michael and Alex; and 11 great grandchildren, Maya, Emily, Jamison, Liam, Jasper, Ruben, Sasha, Odin, Kelly, Madeleine, and Spence. Betty is also survived by her sister, Doris Olsen, brother-in-law, Jim Jamison, many loved nieces and nephews, and her very dear friends, Welma, Del, and Sherril. Betty had a special relationship with each member of her big family and kept in touch with friends for a lifetime. She was an accomplished curler, cook, and crossword puzzler who enjoyed communicating via email, facetime, and facebook through her eighties and nineties. Betty and Spence’s home was a familiar gathering place for scores of relatives and friends throughout the years.
Betty's family will remember her rich legacy by celebrating her wit, her wisdom and her warmth during a memorial service for her at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 13th at Highlands Golf Course 6603 Ada Blvd NW Edmonton. Please bring your anecdotes and reminiscences.6 Gurdwara Road, Suite 101,
