Dad was not a complicated man. He valued family above everything else, and always looked at life in a positive manner, with a kind and generous heart. He was a natural flirt however his loyalty and undivided love was always dedicated to our mother, who he greatly missed after her passing in 2010.

Since 2015, after a life time of searching he found that he had 4 other siblings and took immense joy in getting to know his new nephews and nieces.

Dad was a man that was born on the road and lived his life as a traveller, embracing and taking pride in his heritage.

In keeping with that, we think of a saying that comes from the traveller‘s spoken language of Cant - “Gory at Tharp, Keener Fortha Karabd” meaning “Laugh at Death, but weep for those who die before their time “.

Dad will be so greatly missed - may you be dancing with mom and smiling down upon us.

On October 7, 2021 Charles Wardrop passed away at the age of 86 years. He leaves his sons John (Susan), and Tim (Cathy), grandchildren Mitchell, Matthew, Cassandra, Caitlyn, and Tiffany, brother George, as well as other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Sheila (2010). Charlie will join Sheila at their final resting place at Northern Lights Cemetery.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 7:00pm-9:00pm at Memories Funeral Home 13403 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Northern Lights Cemetery, 15203 Campbell Rd NW, Edmonton.

Memories Funeral Home and Crematorium is participating in Alberta’s restrictions exemption program. All individuals attending will be required to provide 1 of the following:

1) COVID-19 proof of vaccination & Identification showing name & date of birth

2) Medical exemption letter & Identification showing name & date of birth

3) Proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of attendance at the funeral home & Identification showing name & date of birth.
