David Roy Baker

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of David Roy Baker, which occurred at Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton on May 21st, 2023. Born on January 4, 1972 in Elliston, NL David is the son of Roy and the late Doreen (Philpott) Baker.

Dave was a family man who loved his girls fiercely. He worked for many years at Syncrude and was known as a hardworking and talented mechanic.

Originally from Elliston, NL, David is a long time resident of Fort McMurray, AB. David is survived by his loving wife Rachel (nee Marche); daughters Madison (Lincoln) and Jasmine; and his fur baby Molly.

David is also survived by his brothers: Keith (Sarah) of Fort McMurray, AB, Kenny (Patti Jo) of Elliston, NL and Barry of Elliston, NL; very special niece, Megan (Michelle) as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

David was a protector, mentor, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

A Celebration of His Life will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, 5:00 p.m - 8:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 9317 Huggard St, Fort McMurray, AB.
