Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the age of 81.
Dillon "the love of my life" will forever be in my heart and missed everyday by Darlene his loving wife of 37 years. He will also be missed and forever in their hearts, sons, Richard of Edmonton and Michael (Roxanne) from Grande Prairie and daughter, Christine (Guy Letellier) from St.Basile, Quebec.
Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, other family members, many nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Isabel, his brother, Gerry, sister, Irene (Bill) and beloved son, Victor and daughter, Susan.
Dillon had a heart attack and a triple heart bypass surgery, both in late March 2020. From that day forward until his last breath had endured six surgeries and countless infections. He took on each with such courage, strength, determination and always such a positive attitude. His body slowly continued to weaken after each, and never could fully recover before being put through another, with so little time in between. His mind was still sharp and his heart was strong, but his body had taken all it could endure. He could not continue on knowing he would be dependent on others to care for him.
Dillon left us with such "dignity and grace" and on his terms just as he had throughout this courageous battle.
"Our comfort lies in knowing that Dillon is at peace and has no more suffering."
In Dillon's honor and in our grief a private gathering was held.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date when all who knew and loved him are able to attend.
Memory of Me
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering down the ways of happy times and laughing times, bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun, with all the happy memories that I leave when my life is done.
