Don Marshall was my first manager and the person who gave me the opportunity to start my career in Project Controls. He was always respectful, caring, knowledgable and had great heart. You wont find too many managers like that. He is sorely missed.

Don and I first met in Fort McMurray too man-years ago for me to remember exactly when. We hit it off straight away and worked together occasionally on various projects.
Don was knowledgeable, experienced and always willing to provide advice to all he worked with.  The consummate planner/scheduler.
Outside of work Don and I initially, then later as families, became firm friends.
 He and Sue welcomed me into their home when I relocated to Edmonton, with my family temporarily still living in Nova Scotia, 
Working with him , socializing with him, Sue and my family, if nothing else has left us with some wonderful memories.
Nobody  knows what passing results in, but I hope Don amongst other things, is able to watch his favourite CFL team, his Oilers win the Stanley Cup, live in a cottage with a big lake and go kayaking occasionally.  He certainly deserves it.

Don approached the last year with strength and courage  like the true Viking he was! He survived a major surgery and met every setback with resolve to heal. He was an easy patient accepting every idea that was presented to him. He told me in his last weeks that he did his best! He kept his mind and great sense of humour with him until the end! He died peacefully while the Chaplain played Aled Jones version of “The Lord is my Shepherd “ and only had morphine for 24 hours before he died. Rest easy Don. We will never forget you ❤️ and we will miss you dearly.

I’m deeply saddened to hear that Don Marshall has passed away. I had the good fortune of meeting him in Edmonton. 

A great leader and mentor, Don always treated his Team members with respect and fairness.  He had given me the opportunity to work in his Department. 
I’ll always remember him fondly.

I had the undiluted pleasure of working with Don for about 10 years, and we became "besties" over the course of 5 or 6 of them. Although we were always very different people, we saw a lot of strong parallels  in our respective lives and past experiences which formed a large part in our eventual if not inevitable closeness. Some of my less than pleasant personal moments during those years may not have ended as well for me if I did not have the benefit of his soft spoken counsel and sincere friendship. On top of that, the many weekends we spent together in Joussard were fun-packed, highly social and somewhat explorative - as we would check out local venues that Don would identify by "this looks like an interesting place." I already miss those times, as well as the man himself - but can assure you that neither will be forgotten.

I am deeply saddened to hear such terrible news about my fellow boss and great man Don Marshall. He was one of the sweetest and most humble man I knew. I will miss him greatly. Sending my condolences to Don's family.

Don was a great friend and neighbour, we will miss you. We had lots of good dinners, football games on the radio, campfire beers, fishing and plenty of storytelling.  We shared lots of great memories together at the lake. Don was a great figure to myself and my children. My deepest condolences to his family.  Rest easy Don!

I am deeply saddened to hear the passing away of Don Marshall. I had the pleasure of working under him in Alberta. He was a great leader and mentor and always treated his entire Team with respect and kindness. I will always remember him fondly. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Our condolences to the family . We knew  Don from the lake . He loved his time out at the lake sitting on his front porch with a beer and welcomed friends to pop over for a cool one . We didn’t get to really know Don that well but the times we did spend on his porch were great . Such a nice man he will be missed.  RIP Don . 

Don's cabin was 2 doors down from ours at the lake.  Many hours were spent at his fire or ours, talking sports. He was a kind, soft spoken man whom we will miss dearly.  Our sympathy to all of Don's family and Sue.
