It is with heavy hearts that we share that our Opa died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 85. Donnie is once again, in the arms of the love of his life, Beverley, his wife of 50 years who predeceased him on February 9, 2012.
Donnie will be forever remembered by his son Greg Wedman (Denise Butler) daughter-in-law Jacqueline Wedman and their three sons, Cole (Tenzin), Daniel, and Matthew Wedman; and daughter Rhonda (Duwayne) Lang and their two children Christopher (Catherine) and Kelsie Lang.
Donnie spent many happy years with his family in Leduc before moving to Hoselaw where he and his wife Beverley operated Wedman’s Eastbourne Service, a hub for the farming community in the area and a friendly place for campers to fill up their vehicles with gas before heading back to the city from a weekend at the lake. Eventually Donnie and Beverley retired to their dream home in Rochester before finally settling in Edmonton so they could watch their grandchildren play hockey.
A special thank you is extended to the amazing staff at the Good Samaritan Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre for their gracious and compassionate care of our Opa.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at hainstockedmonton.com for the Wedman family. The family will be celebrating Donnie’s life in a private family gathering.
