Donna Maryann Munro

1938- 2024

After a wonderful life and many memories, Donna passed away on August 12, 2024. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Dorothy (Dolly) Poulsom, first spouse, David Bates, second spouse, Bev Munro, and by her son, Dale Bates, and daughter, Daryl Bates. Donna also leaves to mourn her loss her beloved friends, Emma Schmalfuss, Muriel Tiano and Helga Perehinec, as well as the memories of the wonderful dogs in her life, Snooper, Tiny, Mandy and Heidi. There will certainly be a large gathering waiting for her in Heaven!

Donna was born and lived her entire life in Edmonton and was an elementary school teacher for over 35 years. She loved her flower gardens, time spent at the cottage at Pigeon Lake and travelling with Daryl, Helga and Emma. For many years, Donna, Emma and Muriel had a standing date for coffee where there they laughed a lot and solved the world’s problems.

No formal service will be held. Instead, friends are encouraged to gather and have lunch so that they can share memories of their adventures, both the happy and the embarrassing. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Edmonton Humane Society are appreciated.
