

Bud was born on June 25, 1933, in Abbey, Saskatchewan. He lived a long and full life centered around family, friendship, and community. He will be forever remembered for his kindness, steady presence, and gentle humour.
His career with the Royal Canadian Armed Forces (RCAF) took Bud to Claresholm, Saskatchewan; Calgary and Cold Lake, Alberta; CFB Baden-Soellingen, Germany; Saint-Jean Garrison, Quebec; Portage La Prairie (Southport), Manitoba; and Moose Jaw (Bushell Park), Saskatchewan. Upon retirement from the RCAF, Bud embarked on a second career in real estate and earned numerous awards as a top salesperson at both Block Brothers and Heritage Real Estate in Moose Jaw. Upon retirement from real estate, Bud and Aileen re-located to Lacombe, Alberta, in 1992, ultimately settling in Edmonton in 2020.
Bud spent many hours providing service to such organizations as the Lions Club and the Legion and, when not busy volunteering, he enjoyed traveling to Sweden, Mexico, Palm Springs, Las Vegas, Vancouver and throughout Vancouver Island and the Okanagan region of British Columbia. He also spent many occasions camping in various parks and around lakes in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
Bud is lovingly remembered by his wife Aileen Alstad (née Johnson) whom he wed on October 28, 1955, in Calgary, and by his sons Douglas (Linda), Trevor, Brian (Angel), Gregory, and Michael. He was predeceased by his parents Gustav and Erma, his sisters Beulah (Carole), Elvira, and Sylvia, son Kevin (Nicole) and stepson Richard (Arzoo.)
His memory will also be cherished by his grandchildren Clinton (Melissa), Tania, Jeffrey (Carla), Justin (Jasmin), bonus grandchildren Danielle, Jordan, Ashlee and Kassidy, great grandchildren and extended family.
