Elisabeth Dettling was my dearest aunt. Always cheerful and positive.
I miss her very much, but she has inspired me to be a little bit like she was.
May she Rest In Peace.

I know she will be dearly missed, and it's clear how much she meant to many people.

The Dettling family have been part of our family since I was born. Elisabeth is my godmother And my middle name is named after her.They took our family in from Germany when they first arrived to Canada,  they were my parents first friends. I have a Lot of memories. I remember When we would go and Visit you guys and Fred, Perry, my sister, Claudia and I would play games in the kitchen and we were all so shy and didn’t say a word at the start till your mom would come in and tease us till we were giggling which always broke the ice.  Also when my mom wanted to expand the living room  and Elisabeth told her just start tearing down the wall to the adjoining bedroom….dad would have to finish it.  Needless to say, Mom got her large room, thanks to your mom.  I am sorry we never kept in touch but I will always remember her and your family.   I am So sorry for your loss. 

I can't recall any childhood memories without her in them..  our families were intertwined-miss those days immensely. As a family,you have all been blessed to have your parents dancing into old age gracefully. My thoughts are with you all. We will all treasure our memories-the parties, mom and "auntie" having coffee everyday, "happy hours"  and the time they surprised us at the airport and came to Mexico with us. Your parents have always held a special place in my heart.

Very sorry to learn of Mrs. Dettling’s passing. She was always happy, the life of any party and I learned a few Dutch words from her that I still use from time to time. My condolences to the Dettling family.

What a legacy she leaves.  Praying for peace for all of you.

I so enjoyed getting to know the Dettling when they visited Texas. Elisabeth was a fascinating lady. Sending prayers for her entire family. 

My dear mother in law, THE HEART OF THE FAMILY,, we will miss you always, we love you,  she was a great person always smiling.  We will  see you in Heaven ELISABETH.

Edmée and I extend our sincerest condolences to George and all the Dettling Family.
My fondest memory is first meeting Elisabeth and George at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, they were great dancers!  Elisabeth and I could to converse in Dutch which she liked to do.  She carried the same  name, Elisabeth, with as "S" as my mother who was also born in Amsterdam.  The two ladies met at my mother retirement residence and carried on in Dutch  and reminisced and shared memories for hours.  My mother was born in 1914 and passed a few few year ago.
Elisabeth and I called each other regularly and she always immediately spoke Dutch to me which was great in reliving our mother tongues.  I was born in Amsterdam in  February 1945  and they met in May that year during the liberation for which I greatly thank George for his service .   My mother stated that if it wasn't for the Canadians like George and the war would have lasted longer she may not have survived as I was born by candlelight.  Thanks George!!.
I am going to miss having our lively Dutch discussions and  going for tea at their place in St Albert.  Unfortunately COVID suspended  the tea parties which frustrated Elisabeth.
We will miss her and my Dutch chats.
Our thought and prayers are with the Dettlings and especially with George who will miss her greatly.
