Ahhh...Gerry, it does not get any easier, we miss you so very much.  We miss your humor, your wit (which is second to none), and how you cared so passionately about all of us, your family and your friends.  

If only you were here, this is our greatest  wish, however you actually are here, present with us, in our hearts and our memories.

A man of many jokes, I remember giving you a lift when you where home from Canada and you were cracking jokes and telling us how great Canada was, and it was great to hear you and Geraldine were doing so well.
You would always mix Carrie and myself up on purpose to make us laugh! 
I remember visiting granda on a regular basis and he would be waiting by the phone(before he went to the bookies and the killer) as you would be calling from Canada. 
Your reunited now with Nanny Granda and aunty Deirdre.

Uncle Gerry, or better known as Heya to Ayla, Ryker, Rowan and Atley. 

I have tried about five times to write this but there is no way I can sum up the countless memories, thousands of really corny “dad jokes”, and the unconditional love you showed me and the kids. 

You were always there. From taking the Ayla and Ryker on the weekend to the recycling depot to save money for the adventure fund. You ensured my children always had their Irish jerseys or green attire (with a side of Edmonton Oilers). To the countless diapers you changed and naps you had on the couch with the babies. 

We love you and miss you so much.  There will never be a day that myself or the kids won’t be thinking of you. 

Don’t worry, the kids are making sure to keep Hamma entertained and busy (in other words, your house is a mess)

My Brother Gerry, 
Growing up we were all very different, but somehow, we all managed to get along, then you get older and life gets in the way, so you don't see as much of each other as you'd like. We sometimes forget the good times. I sat down to think of you Gerry, to remember those times, especially the 80s; when work was scarce, you always tried to take care of us & managed to get me work on the sites with you. Whether it was Dublin, Nenagh or Waterford; we had a lot of laughs - I won't mention why they called you "lefty" in Waterford. You even got my sons work, during their summer holidays - they always thought they were loaded, when they went back to school. You loved Canada & you & Geraldine took a huge step when you relocated there. It was a brave decision to make your dream a reality & I'm so glad that you both saw it through. Few get to live their dreams, but you were one of them. Love to you and Geraldine, Dave, Maura & Family

You will be dearly missed.  It was a pleasure to work with you so closely.  It was a joy to see your smile.  Your way of dealing with customers, even in stressful situations, will be hard to continue.  There is a huge hole to fill now that you are gone and work will just not be the same with out you. I'm sad to be writing this today. I thought of you more as a brother than a brother in law.

Thinking back to the late 70's early 80's when myself Laura you and Geraldine would go out on a Saturday night somehow you and I would always show up wearing the same suits and shoes.(light green one comes to mind)This happened many a time but we were never bothered. (fashion guru's we were not)

I always enjoyed our chats about cars and enjoyed your expert advice on DIY(god knows I needed it).
Rest easy Gerry, you will be greatly missed.

You were my big brother. When we were young we weren't so close, you were dating girls when I was still kicking football on the green, but you always had my back. You were there for me after my accident and your encouragement and support got me through my darkest times. As we grew older we had a lot in common. We shared the same work ethic and spent many nights discussing jobs and new technologies. My boys looked forward to your many visits and you always had a big role to play as their Uncle Gerry.
I'm glad you had the opportunity to up sticks and live your dream even if it meant seeing you less in recent years, but it brings comfort to know you made so many friends and you and Geraldine were very happy.
Reunited now with Mam, Dad and Deirdre, but sad that your visits will be no more.

So many wonderful memories of you. Could sit and chat for hours with you , your wisdom .. quick whit and kindness will forever be in my heart. I'm so sorry you're not here  .I wasn't ready to say goodbye   .I remember too many good times ..red escort  estate .my taxi to work  for years   .thanks for all your hard work in my house  .3 of them .kitchen s.  flooring  wardrobes .etc  .I only had to ring you once  and you arrived.  For that I am truly  grateful.  My love  to Geraldine  ..I'm gonna miss you. 

Gerry, I very much enjoyed working with you.   Your direct approach and the passion you brought into the workplace each day was refreshing and also inspiring.  I’ll fondly remember our last discussion and how plain and obvious it was that you were always trying to make a difference for those around you.  It was very clear why you held the respect by so many, including by me.  May you Rest In Peace knowing that you impacted so many people’s lives in a positive manner.

Anytime I think of Canada I think of you. It was your second home until it became your actual home. I loved hearing your stories of your holidays in Canada when you'd come to visit us and I said I'd love to go there some day. In the meantime I will continue to think of you everytime I hear the word Canada or see a maple leaf. 
My thoughts are with Geraldine and the rest of your family and friends at this sad time. May you rest is peace.

I remember you for the grin clamped on your face and the exchange of corny jokes. It was never the wrong time for a jest.

You were a contagious health hazard, causing enlargement of the heart and lungs, and you were infectious. 

You had a light like the LED on a TV, always on standby, and that went to full power when another joker pushed your button. 

When the pubs open after lockdown, I’m going to have a couple of pints of Guinness for the two of us. The trouble is, it would have been your turn to buy the first round.

I hope there’s a good ‘local’ where you are now. I’m sure we’ll meet again before long. Get them in.

Uncle Gerry, I’ll always remember you’d come visit us in the house and you’d be sat at the table with your cup of coffee and your packet of biscuits telling us any new joke you heard since the last time you visited, you must have been the only man to be able to finish a full packet of biscuits with one cup of coffee! To this day I will happily finish a full packet of biscuits with my coffee because you taught me it was okay to do so.

Uncle Gerry,  my godfather.  I  must have driven you mad, when you were foolish enough to let me do work experience with you for the summer, on the law library on church street. But I had a ball. Gerry, you were a terrific big brother who always looked out for me when I was a child (and ever since).  You bought me chocolate, gifts from your travels, and you continually laughed my jokes.  I admired your passion for your work, Liverpool Football Club and more recently, everything Canadian.
You were a good uncle to my children and were as generous to them as you were to me. 
Your success is an inspiration to us and although you were taken from us too soon, you are forever in our thoughts..

Gerry you were more than a brother-in-law to me, you were my brother, an amazing uncle to my children and really a grandfather to my grandchildren.  You were such an integral part of my life and I miss you more than words can say.  

I know you are in Heaven, if anyone should be, it's you.  Your kindness and care for all was obvious and became very clear with the outpouring of love that has come since you passed.
