Gilbert Carl Roth

Gilbert Carl Roth was born on March 11, 1938 in Daysland, Alberta. He was raised in Heisler, Alberta and started working for Woodward Stores Ltd. in September of 1956. Gil met Lorna in the summer of 1961, and they were married on April 28th,1962 in Edmonton, Alberta. Gil retired from Woodward’s in 1989 after 32 years of service.

Gilbert passed on April 19, 2026 at the age of 88, just 9 days shy of Gil and Lorna’s 64th wedding anniversary. He is predeceased by his parents Carl and Olive and his siblings: Alice, Ron, Ernie, Phyllis, Joyce and Betty.

Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife, Lorna, sister Judy (Eldie) Litke, daughters: Joan (Macdonald) Mensah- Agyeman, Brenda (Phil) Russell, Barbara (Dale) Fedoruk, Sandra (Patrick) Ampem. Grandchildren: Ama, David, Sarfowah, Elizabeth, Wyatt, Kolby, Christopher, Hailey (Calvin), Kayla (Nathan), and Katelyn and great grandchildren: Julian and Elliott.

Good-bye Gil; good-bye dear husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

May the Good Lord bless and keep you until we meet again!

Arrangements for a private service will be made at a later date. The family invites those who wish to honour Gil’s memory to consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
