Harjit Singh Parmar

Born on January 24, 1948, in Kamam, Punjab, Harjit was the beloved son of Harcharn Singh and Harbajin Kaur Parmar. Throughout his life, he was known for his quiet strength, deep compassion, and profound care for family and friends.

Harjit will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Inderjeet Kaur Parmar; his cherished children, Jasmine Parmar and Jassi Parmar; his daughter-in-law, Maryam Razavy; and his adored granddaughters, Eliana and Talia Parmar, who brought him endless pride and joy.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Gurmeet K. Minhas, Amarjit K. Minhas, the late Ranbir S. Parmar, Balbir K. Minhas, Rajwant K. Parhar, Balbir S. Parmar, Rajinder K. Bhatti, and the late Kulwant K. Parhar, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever remember his kindness, wisdom, and warmth.

A funeral service will be held at Memories Funeral Home (13403 St. Albert Trail) on November 1, 2025, at 12:00 pm to honour and celebrate Harjit’s life. Following the service, prayers and langar (lunch) will take place at Sri Guru Nanak Gurdwara, 14211–133 Avenue, Edmonton.

As we say farewell, we take comfort in the Sikh blessing:

"Sooraj kiran milae jal kaa jal hooaa raam"

(ਸੂਰਜ ਕਿਰਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਜਲ ਕਾ ਜਲ ਹੋਆ ਰਾਮ)

As the sun’s rays merge with the sun and the water merges with water, so the soul returns to the Divine.
