I am so sorry to hear of Herb's passing. I used to drive him (Canadian Cancer Society) to his appointments at the Cross. He had such a great attitude. I just returned from our winter home and hoped to learn that Herb had defied the odds. I will miss him.

It is was his infectious smile.  His easy going style.  His quick wit and sharp mind.  The type of man who would give the shirt off his back and not ask why you needed it.  Herb Fester was a good friend forever remembered and always missed.

So sorry to hear about herb , I'd like to offer my condolancies to all his family and friends. I worked with Herb for only a short time but I'll never forget his genourosity. He treated me and a few other English guys to a beers and wings night , knowing we was short of money after just landing in canada to start work for Ati. We spent most mornings after that laughing and joking about anything and everything . A true gentleman .

Although the window for knowing you was very small, while we shared brief moments at the CCI in September, I am grateful to have met you and experience your positive spirit as you faced the challenges and battle with cancer. The Pohl family is so sorry that none of us were able to make it to the service.  We loved Herb!!  We take comfort in the memories of your family visits with us at the Crystal Springs every May Long weekend.  How lucky was I that Herb was always there for my birthday.  We will miss him dearly.  Herb was always smiling and had the best jokes ever!  Every time we see someone with a black fanny pack we think of him. Herb was such a good man.  David, Patricia, Dieter, Trudy, Bob, Rita and George, our thoughts and prayers are with you.  Maria's parents, Karl and Gerta also send their deepest condolences.  May he rest in peace now.

Although I was only able to know Herb for a short period of time, he has made a big impact on my life. His laughter, sense of humour, love, caring, and respect for others was truly amazing. I will remember Herb forever and miss him dearly.

We will remember Herb for the support he gave our family during our dad's battle at the same time he was dealing with his own; we shared plenty of tears and laughs. Thank you Herb for your friendship.
